Wax melts

Wax melts can be used to fill a room with a scent. This is different from candles which are rarely scented.

Ingredients
  • 227g clean wax from cappings
  • 80g coconut oil
  • 100 drops essential oil (for scent)

Method
  • Weigh the ingredients.
  • Melt the wax (65°C).
  • Add the coconut oil.
  • Wait until the temperature drops to around 40°C to prevent essential oil evaporation.
  • Add the essential oil(s) and stir well.
  • Pour into moulds – 14-15g is a good size.

The most popular scents are lavender or lavender + lime, along with frankincense and patchouli. Things like cinnamon and rosemary are very strong and can overpower everything else.
