Wax food wraps
Wax food wraps are excellent reusable wrappings that can be used on sandwiches, etc. The following bakes around six 26cm x 26cm wraps. For best results, use cotton that adheres to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and wash to remove any remaining sizing solution. Use 40cm x 40cm for bread. An ideal source of eco-cotton cloth is from Cotton Bee, cretonne (121gsm).

- 50g clean wax
- 35g pine rosin – make sure it’s well-powdered
- 5g jojoba oil
- 5g coconut oil
Method
- Weigh the ingredients
- Melt the wax
- Add the oils
- Stir in the rosin until fully dissolved
Care
- Don’t use with strong-smelling items like fish, raw meat, or onions.
- Don’t use with hot food and don’t use in the microwave oven.
- To clean:
- Remove debris.
- Soak in an empty sink with eco-friendly detergent.
- Rinse under cold water and air dry.
