Honeybee Orientation and Communication

By Simon Rees, CFL

Picture
Simpon gave a really interesting talk - it was both unusual and very informative. He covered how the round dance morphs into the waggle dance, depending on distance, and spoke about the pheremones that control the bees behaviours. He also covered the sounds the queens make - piping and quacking, as well as their sensory systems. In fact he covered quite a bit of the FIBKA Scientific Exams without those present realising it.
